Catalonien
Catalonia lies in north-eastern Spain along the Mediterranean coast from the Pyrenees in the north to Tarragona in the south and, together with Barcelona, forms one of Spain's most dynamic wine regions. The area contains 10 official DOs, including Penedès, Empordà, Costers del Segre, Conca de Barberà, Terra Alta, Montsant, Pla de Bages, Tarragona and Alella, as well as the prestigious DOQ Priorat with Spain's highest quality classification.
The climate is predominantly Mediterranean with continental features inland, and the soils range from limestone and clay to slate (llicorella) and granite. The area is home to Cava, Spain's traditional-method sparkling wine, produced mainly in Penedès from Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada. The red wines are made from Garnacha, Cariñena, Tempranillo and international varieties, while the whites are dominated by the traditional Cava grapes and Chardonnay. The style ranges from fresh sparkling wines to powerful, concentrated reds from Priorat with mineral graphite and ripe dark berries. The area is known as the home of Cava and one of Spain's most diverse wine regions.

Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
