Donnas Caves Cooperatives de Donnas 2000
The 2000 Donnas is a red wine produced by Caves Coopératives de Donnas within the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) of Vallée d'Aoste, Italy. Bottled in its zone of origin, the wine is sourced from the rocky slopes of the municipalities of Donnas, Bard, Perloz, and Pont-Saint-Martin.
Valle d'Aosta is Italy's smallest wine region, nestled between the highest peaks of the Alps near the borders of France and Switzerland. The vineyards are situated on some of Europe's highest terraces and are often cultivated by hand. The area is recognized for its strong local identity and its cultivation of native varieties alongside alpine expressions of classic grapes.
The wine is crafted from a blend consisting primarily of 85% Nebbiolo, locally known as Picotendro, complemented by 15% Freisa and Neyret. During the production process, the wine is aged in oak barrels or barriques, reflecting the traditional winemaking practices of the cooperative.
