Bordeaux is the world's most famous wine region, located by the Atlantic coast and known for its historic 1855 classification. On the Left Bank of the Gironde estuary, Cabernet Sauvignon thrives on the gravelly soils. This 1983 vintage comes from the Haut-Médoc, the southern and highly prestigious part of the Médoc peninsula, which encompasses renowned communes such as Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac, and Saint-Estèphe. The 1983 vintage in this area is described as mature and classic, achieving a score of 86 points.
Château Larose-Trintaudon is situated in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, with its vineyards magnificently bordering the communes of Pauillac and Saint-Julien-Beychevelle. Covering 172 hectares, with 140 hectares dedicated to vineyards, it is the largest wine estate in the Médoc. This scale is exceptionally rare in modern Bordeaux, where most prestigious châteaux span only 30 to 100 hectares. The estate holds the Cru Bourgeois classification and is ISO 14001 certified for sustainable production, representing an ambitious, large-scale interpretation of Left Bank winemaking.
The cultivation, vinification, and aging of the wine are carried out according to old, natural, and traditional methods. The wine is bottled directly at the château. Over the past century, the estate has earned numerous accolades, including gold medals and diplomas of honor at major French and international competitions. Since 1986, the château has been owned by the insurance group Allianz France, providing a stable institutional backing with a long-term investment horizon alongside other properties like Château Arnauld and Château Larose-Perganson.

Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
