Il Sodaccio Radda in Chianti Montevertine 1986
The 1986 Il Sodaccio is a red wine produced by Montevertine in the Radda in Chianti area of Tuscany, Italy. Tuscany is one of Italy's most iconic wine regions, with viticultural roots dating back to the Etruscans. The area is renowned for its historical focus on the Sangiovese grape, which forms the foundation for classic wines such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, as well as the prestigious Super-Tuscans that emerged in the 1970s. The 1986 vintage in this region is described as fresh and tight, earning a score of 84 points.
Classified as a Vino da tavola, this wine is crafted from a blend of Sangioveto and Canaiolo grapes harvested exclusively from the "Il Sodaccio" vineyard. The production was overseen by Sergio Manetti, who selected and vinified the grapes in collaboration with cellarman Bruno Bini and master taster Giulio Gambelli. Following the vinification process, the wine was aged in oak barrels at the Montevertine estate.
