Vintage taste box 3.0

Vintage Wine Tasting Box 3.0 — Three decades, three great wine regions Imagine opening three bottles, where the oldest was harvested 47 years ago. That is exactly what the Vintage Wine Tasting Box gives you. We have handpicked three extraordinary wines from three of Europe's most iconic wine regions — Barolo, Pauillac and Côte de Beaune — from three different decades. It is the perfect introduction to vintage wine. The box's three wines: 🇮🇹 Barolo Manzone Francesco & Figli 1979 — Monforte d'Alba, PiemonteA 47-year-old Barolo, bottled at the estate by the family who grew the grapes — at a time when most Barolo still left Langhe in barrel. Monforte d'Alba is considered the most structured of Barolo's eleven communes, and that very structure is the reason the bottle is still alive. 1979 produced softer and more charming wines than the tannic 1978 — and after almost five decades, that softness has become the vintage's greatest advantage. Dried rose petal, sour cherry, tar, leather and a hint of truffle. 🇫🇷 Château Lynch-Moussas 1989 — Pauillac, BordeauxA Cinquième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, owned by the Castéja family since 1919. The name comes from the Irish Lynch family, who settled in Bordeaux — the original landholding was divided and gave rise to both Lynch-Moussas and its neighbor Lynch-Bages. 1989 stands as one of the great Bordeaux vintages of the 20th century: a warm and unbroken summer produced a harvest of exceptional ripeness. Ripe plum and blackcurrant, which with air open toward cedar, graphite and tobacco. Silky-soft tannins and the quiet cigar-box note that characterizes good aged Pauillac. The box's most structured wine. 🇫🇷 Ladoix Chanson Père et Fils 1992 — Côte de Beaune, BourgogneFrom Chanson Père et Fils, founded in Beaune in 1750 and one of Burgundy's oldest houses. Their cellar is located in Bastion de l'Oratoire, a round artillery tower from the 15th century with walls several meters thick — a fortress transformed into a wine cellar. Ladoix is Côte de Beaune's northernmost village appellation at the foot of Montagne de Corton and one of the area's most overlooked names. 1992 was a soft and charming vintage made for early enjoyment — and that is what makes this bottle special: that it has made it this far is the whole point. Expect a light, transparent and fully mature Pinot Noir with dried strawberry, forest floor and dried rose. It should be opened first of the three. Super service and very helpful. Lost one of the bottles during transport and reported it to Bottles With History. It was fixed immediately and a new bottle was sent immediately. (Actually a better wine in my opinion) It is very difficult to guarantee that older bottles are drinkable, like the Barolo from 69 I tried. Anders came to the rescue again and of course sent a new bottle of the same caliber. Thank you very much for the good service, can definitely recommend shopping here in safe hands.
