It acts as a liquid time capsule: the vintage year ties directly into the recipient’s journey, and the wine’s maturation mirrors their own development. Look for a good fill level and an intact cork/capsule, and choose only bottles with documented, correct cellaring. Let the bottle stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening, open carefully, decant gently to remove sediment, and serve at around 16–18 °C (red) or 8–10 °C (sparkling).
